I have a group of friends that are avid machine embroiderers. One of these friends was given the Bernina Latte quilt book for a birthday present. I was quite enamored with the Latte quilt, although I don’t know why as my decorating style is definitely not Victorian. Being a novice machine embroiderer, I concocted the idea that we should form a small group and each make the Latte quilt, giving me the chance to improve my embroidery and my embroidery software skills. So we bought a few more copies of the book and came up with a meeting schedule.
I think we only met 4 times however before we disbanded. One of my friends said that it “wasn’t fun anymore.” It appears that I was project managing the completion of the Latte quilt by giving us a schedule and due dates. Oh well! I continued on and completed my quilt and learned a lot in the process. To this day, this quilt has never been on a bed. I have no idea what to do with the darn thing, but it took so much work to make that I can’t give it way. I frequently have been heard saying that I want the quilt top back, as I could machine quilt it much better now.
E-mail me if you would like more information on this quilt
